Abstract

A study on effect of various COD concentration of soy-bean sauce wasteweter treatment using UASB type bioreactor has been conducted. The result exhibited that over 90 % of the COD could be removed. Removal rate of COD was not significantly affected by elapsing time of the treatment and for flucatuating COD concentration, however, it appeared to poin out a significant difference as a result of increasing COD level of the feed solution. The higher the COD level was fed, the more the amount of COD was eliminated. The generated gas volume was also raised as the COD Concentration was increased.

Abstract

Methyl Ester is produced by esterification of fatty acid and methanol using sulfuric acid as a catalyst. In this research methyl laurate was made from lauric acid and methanol. The ester is extracted with dietil eter and an addition of MgS04 to reduce water. The characteristic of methyl laurate are water-white liquid, insoluble in water, non corrosive and low toxicity.Methyl laurate is used in intermediate for detergents, emulsifiers, wetting agents, stabilizers, lubricants, platicizers, textiles and flavoring.

Abstract

Water Dispersible Granule (WDG) as a modification of Wettable Powder and Granule formulation is the new type of pesticide formulation in the form of granule. Like Wettable Powder, the aplication of this formulation is by dispersing it in water. WDG is consist of active ingredient, carrier, wetting agent, dispersing agent, and binding agent. According to those compositions WDG must have the properties such as very good dispersibility in water, no breaking and dusting during handling, high active content and have physical and chemical stability. Base on the type of active ingredient, WDG can be produced through two processes of preparation step i.e. wet process and dry process followed by granulation step which can be done by spray dryer, pan granulator, fluid bed, extrusion and high speed mixer.

Abstract

Controlled Rerelease Formulation is one type of Pesticide formulation which can release active ingredient slowly and continuesly in certain period of time. Release on using of there kinds of starch that are corn, cassasa and rice starch was carried autin BBIK laboratory. Xanthate and Board acid methode were used in this formulation making to entrop pesticide active ingredient such as diazinon, carbo:furan and chlorpyrifos into a matrix polimer. From the test of physico-chemical and active ingredient release rate, it was found that com starch can be used well in making of controlled release pesticide formulation while rice starch can not be used for this formulation.
